How It Works

How the Spencer System works

The product enters the filter on the inlet side flowing downward filling the canister. Filtering from the outside to inside the element, the motor turns the element ( 9 1/2 r.p.m.'s) towards two stationary blades which filter out unwanted particles.

The particles then travel downward to the bottom of the funnel shaped canister which is then manually or systematically purged. Thus, the entire time, the product is flowing to the inside of the element upward and to the outlet side of the filter.

Purging is accomplished by installing a ball-valve or automated purge system at the bottom of the canister.

There will be an inlet an outlet pressure gauge located at the top of the filter. When the inlet pressure is 20 pounds more than the outlet pressure, the filter system should be purged by opening the ball-valve for a few seconds until the inlet pressure decreases to its normal rating.
